COMPLIANCE
SCCS ensures the equitable administration of applicable federal, state, and local laws or policies impacting the SCCS community and fosters positive relationships between the school system and its students and employees. SCCS follows a complaint and appeal processes; investigates employee, student, and community complaints of discrimination or harassment; and processes accommodation requests. In addition, it facilitates compliance with legal requirements associated with Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act; Age Discrimination in Employment Act; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act; Age Discrimination Act; Titles I and II of the Americans with Disabilities Act; and Title II of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act.
