Note

One of the other goals we have had this week has been to maintain a connection to our students and families. I met with the teachers on Wednesday and we asked them to reach out to students and parents to make sure your kids had all of the resources they needed to be successful during this time.  I hope the phone calls, Remind messages, and communications through Google Classroom were not overwhelming. We simply wanted to check on your kids and see how they were doing. If you have not talked to one of your students' teachers and need resources or support, please let me know.

Teachers will continue to post the learning activities each day that they normally have class.  The work should take no more than 120 total minutes a day or about 20-30 per class. While some students are choosing to work on all of their classes each day, others are working on "A" and "B" day classes on their normal class day.    The learning activities are designed to provide meaningful practice and give students feedback on their learning. Learning activities should be brief and cover material that has already been taught in the traditional classroom prior to the school closure.  Teachers will work with students who may need some additional time or resources to complete the learning activities. If you require additional materials, please contact your teacher or let me know.

Several students and parents have inquired about our plans for prom and senior week.  Right now, we are going to be out through March 31st. Ms. Taylor and I have contacted the Classic Center to inquire about moving the Prom to May and will let you know if that is an option.  As for senior week and other school-wide activities, we will make decisions about those activities when we have additional information and communicate them to you as soon as possible.
