Please note: Only parents/guardians can be overnight chaperones unless approved by the Superintendent or their designee.

• Complete and Return a Chaperone Registration Form
• Consent to Fingerprint-Based Background Check at SCCS Central Office
  • Non-Criminal Justice Applicant's Privacy Rights and Privacy Act Statement
• Return a signed NCPA/VCA Waiver and Consent Form
• Return a signed Chaperone Guidelines Form
• Schedule an appointment to be fingerprinted (Mrs. Tina Waters at 770-464-2731) 
  • Fingerprints are good for a period of three years, and the cost is $44.00. We only accept credit/debit cards (excluding American Express).
  • Bring your driver’s license and social security card (or a valid passport) to your appointment*

*Without proper ID, your appointment will be rescheduled. Additional forms of accepted ID can be found on the Department of Homeland Security website. 

The principal or teacher-in-charge will notify you upon approval. The district may decline your request to become a chaperone for any legal reason. All information collected will be considered confidential to the extent allowed by law and will only be used to protect the students or minimize disruption to the educational environment. School personnel will check the List of Registered Sex Offenders for anyone who will work directly with students.

Lay Coaches may work with an individual student only in areas observable by staff, such as a hallway, the media center, or outdoors. You should not be alone with a student unless directed to do so by a staff person in charge, only under emergency or exceptional circumstances.

If you would like to volunteer for daytime activities such as field trips, field day, classroom support, etc., please contact the school for more information. They will share volunteer opportunities and guide you through the required approval process.
