Social Circle City Schools is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2026-2027 school year, providing healthy school breakfasts and lunches to all elementary, middle, and high school students at no charge.  What is the CEP Program?

The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, part of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs,  allows schools to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students without needing individual meal applications, thus reducing the administrative and printing costs. 

Benefits of the CEP Program:

• Free Meals for All Students: Every student in our district will receive free breakfast and lunch, ensuring that no child goes hungry and every child is ready to learn.

• Improved Academic Performance: Research shows that students who have access to regular, nutritious meals perform better academically and have better attendance rates.

• Reduced Stigma: Offering free meals to all students eliminates the stigma associated with free or reduced-price meal programs, promoting a more inclusive school environment.

• Simplified Administrative Process: Schools can focus more on education rather than processing meal applications, allowing staff to allocate time and resources more efficiently.

Program Implementation:

• Start Date: August 1, 2024

• Meal Options: Students will have access to a variety of healthy and balanced breakfast and lunch options daily.

• No Applications Needed: Families do not need to submit any applications for their children to receive free meals under the CEP program.

Social Circle City Schools is excited to announce that we now offer our Food Service Point of Sale through Infinite Campus. Through your parent portal account, you can make a secure online payment to your student’s meal account. Please note: online payments no longer incur a convenience fee when paid in Infinite Campus.

The Nutrition Department ensures that a BOE-approved Wellness Policy, along with accompanying procedures, is in place.  The School Nutrition Director coordinates and facilitates the Wellness Committee's meetings and ensures that an assessment of the Wellness Policy and Procedures is completed at least once every three years.

Foods sold in schools during the school day to which students have access may be sold under two conditions:

(1) The food item meets "Smart Snacks in Schools" nutritional standards.  Find out if a food meets standards here:  https://foodplanner.healthiergeneration.org/calculator/; or

(2) The school has sanctioned a waiver for the organization.  Up to 30 waivers, for no more than three days each, are available for each school each year.  Fundraisers who take advantage of waiver allowances must follow the guidelines on when items may be sold.
