Curriculum and Instruction

Welcome to the Social Circle City Schools (SCCS) Curriculum and Instruction Department. Our mission is to train, encourage, assist, and mentor through leadership, service, and support for Social Circle City Schools. We are committed to continually providing a challenging and equitable learning opportunities for all staff and students.  We work collaboratively to guide the system’s curriculum, instructional design, and assessment practices to ensure teacher effectiveness and student learning across all grades and courses via: 

• instructional technology resources 

• gifted instruction 

• MTSS

• CTAE offerings

• staff mentor program

• professional learning opportunities 

SCCS curriculum and instruction are based on the current Georgia state standards that outline performance expectations for students in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and pathways for CTAE courses. High-quality instruction based on the standards prepares students with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed for college and career success.

We believe in continuous improvement aligned with the district’s five-year strategic plan through an intentional focus on Student Achievement and Learning and Quality Staff and Professional Growth pillars:
