Thank you for your interest in the Social Circle City School District. Applications for out-of-district attendance are screened based on each student’s prior history. This includes a review of report cards, attendance records, behavior and discipline records, test scores, as well as our ability to accommodate the student and to provide quality education. The application process for Social Circle Schools is very competitive.
Non-resident students who are approved for attendance shall be reviewed annually and charged tuition equal to the local per-student expenditure less local fair share. Students who live in Newton County are exempt from tuition payments. Tuition shall be paid at the Business Office of the Board of Education in one of the following manners:
a. Pay the total amount in advance of matriculation, or
b. Pay at the beginning of each semester an amount equal to ½ of that assessed for the year.
To help expedite the processing of your application, the following items MUST be submitted with your application for each child listed. Incomplete and/or late applications will automatically be denied. No Exceptions.
Copy of the current report card and a copy of the report card from the previous year
Copy of the student’s attendance records for the current school year
Copy of the student’s behavior/discipline record
Copy of the student’s most recent standardized test scores
Copy of Individualized Education Program (IEP) if applicable
