Principal's Message

Tim Armstrong

Dear students, parents, guardians and community members:

I am honored to serve as the principal here at Social Circle High School especially at such an exciting time in the life of our school. The Board of Education and Superintendent have entrusted me to lead your great school and I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity. I’m proud to be a part of a premier school in a premier district.

The community is very fortunate to have excellent teaching and learning in all of our sister schools. Your children come to our high school ready to learn. The high school staff members are dedicated to the continued success of every student. Throughout the last year and summer break, our teachers have participated in professional learning focused on improving instruction in order to improve student academic performance.

Our teachers are also dedicated to partnering with you on the moral and ethical development of our children. We desire for all Social Circle High School graduates to be hardworking and thoughtful citizens who greatly contribute to the success of this community, our state, and our country. We will continue to have high expectations for student dress, conduct, and performance. Students should be dressed for success every day and should not leave home in attire that would not be acceptable in a professional workplace. Students should conduct themselves in a manner that does not impede another person’s opportunity to learn. We will expect excellence in everything.

High School is a wonderful time to explore future college and career options. Students’ positive behaviors will open doors to exciting opportunities. Our school offers a variety of clubs, organizations, and athletic teams. Research has demonstrated the positive influence of active participation and membership in activities outside the classroom on academic performance. We urge all students to get involved in at least one activity outside the classroom. The amazing athletic facilities will improve the performance of our student athletes as they learn leadership and collaboration skills on and off the field.

I look forward to meeting everyone and earning your trust. I am excited to be a member of your lovely community. This is truly a “Social Circle.”

Tim Armstrong, Principal, Social Circle High School
