NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The Social Circle Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase
in property taxes by 2.12 percent over the rollback millage rate. All concerned citizens are invited to three separate public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Social Circle Middle School Activity Center, 154 Alcova Drive, Social Circle, GA on the following dates: Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 5:30 p.m., and Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. The tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 19.278 mills, an increase of .401 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 18.877 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $18.04 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $20.05.
